Okay. So the truth is, watching movies with your dog, is really about snuggling with your dog and whilst your dog might watch TV with you, it is more likely your dog is eyeing after what you're eating. And that includes popcorn.

Dogs can actually eat popcorn. As long as it is not with butter, salt or sugar and other unhealthy toppings. Plain popcorn works the best. In fact, popped corn kernels contains iron, magnesium, manganese, phosphorous, protein and zinc, along with fiber and trace amounts of vitamins (like Vitamin B). They aren't going to make a huge dent in your dog's upward health, but it won't harm your dog either. We just have to be careful of unpopped corn kernels that are super hard or corn kernels that get stuck in between the teeth.

Like other dog snacks (or Kuro Snacks), we have to be mindful of when they can snack and how much to give. No more than 10% of their overall diet should be for snacks. Popcorn can be consumed but overdoing it will be bad of course.

Here is a super easy FREE POPCORN RECIPE for your dog.

Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup of popcorn kernels

  • One tablespoon of olive oil

  • Optional Mix: a pinch of cinnamon, oregano, parsley, thyme

Instructions:

  1. Firstly, evenly spread the popcorn kernels in a pot, cover them with the olive oil and shake. Cover the pot with the lid and leave the gas on high. Leave covered until the popping stops.

  2. Place the popcorn on a kitchen towel to absorb any excess oil (and this is where you may want to sprinkle the optional mixture and toss it around).

  3. Leave it to cool before feeding your dog.

  4. If you've made a bigger batch for yourself (you should, don't steal from your dog), you can add butter, a pinch of salt, and we kinda like it with an even sprinkle or parmesan cheese.

Now you're all set to snuggle with your dog and have movie night. Check out the dog shows on Netflix now or the ones on Amazon Prime Video
