For ages, crystals have been used for their properties. For humans, we use them in a variety of ways. The same can be done for dogs as well. Remember that with dogs being so sensitive, the energy of their owner and those they live with can have a huge effect on them. So use crystals to help yourself, so that you can help your dog! Here are some crystals and their properties and the first step is to choose the crystal that’s most suited for your dogs.

Amethyst

Amethyst Is a powerful healing stone and is normally referred to as a Master Healer. It Is a very calming stone and helps animals to relax. Excellent for animals that suffer from separation anxiety. Also helps to calm hot-headed animals and aids in training. Is a powerful all-around healer.

Black Obsidian

Reduces feelings of loneliness as it soothes the nerves of your dog. With Black Obsidian around your dog, you can rest easy knowing that no harm will come to your pal whether you’re at home or out visiting friends. Those that experience separation anxiety can greatly benefit from this healing crystal.

Black Tourmaline

Can help with skeletal problems, muscle strains, and hormone imbalances. Is also a great stone to protect against background radiation like TV and computers. This stone is a must-have for animals to protect them from human negativity and helps them to adapt to human environments. Our animals absorb a lot from us and this stone just helps give them protection from absorbing too much negativity such as stress, anxiety, anger, fear, depression.

Blue Lace Agate

Blue Lace Agate is a great nurturing and supportive stone, neutralising anger, infection, inflammation and fever. Blue Lace Agate helps to strengthen and accelerate the repair of bones, thyroid deficiencies, throat and lymph infections. Blue Lace Agate is formed from Chalcedony.

Blue Sodalite

A very calming crystal and is good for nervous animals. Also helps to settle your animal down during travel so can help with travel sickness. Good for phobias and is useful when an animal gets panicky. Sodalite helps to boost the immune system and aids in reducing the negative and enhancing the positive side of life. This stone allows self-acceptance, self-esteem, and self-belief. Great stone for communication as opens the throat chakra.

Carnelian

This stone adds in confidence, boosts self-esteem, and releases sorrow and depression. Think of this stone as the sunshine stone as will bring a ray of sunshine to elderly animals that may be fading in their final years. Helps animals that are lacking in focus and understanding and is good for animals that have a poor appetite and are feeling weak during illness.

Clear Quartz

Clear Quartz is effective for many conditions both physical, spiritual, mental/ emotional, and can amplify energy. It can encourage healing, boost the immune system and alleviate symptoms of pain and inflammation. It is also good for amplifying intentions between dog and owner, so useful during training sessions as strengthens mental clarity but also helps with bonding.

Citrine

Gives off positive energies and is sometimes referred to as the Happy Stone. This stone brings about a sense of happiness and well-being. It is energizing and helps to strengthen the immune system. It is great for animals that do have low vitality and need a bit of a boost.

Fluorite

Helps with concentration and understanding. Soothes arthritis and other joint issues, and also bone and digestive disorders.

Green Aventurine

Good for dealing with stress (such as house moves) and soothes fears. Heals past emotional trauma and grief, can be helpful for rescue dogs.

Hematite

Excellent for grounding and for protection from negative energies – so it’s a good choice if you’re going through a stressful time and feel that your dog is picking up on that energy.

Jasper

Support and strengthen the body, so is good for healing all physical problems and illnesses. Also helps to strengthen emotional bonds.

Ocean Jasper

Ocean Jasper is a soothing stone. It can calm your pet and increase its patience. It is considered to aid in digestion, improve nutritional assimilation and detoxify.

Rose Quartz

Rose Quartz is all about Love and Balance. It will help to heal past abuse and cruelty, so is great for rescue animals. This crystal helps an animal to forgive and let go and bring in a sense of love and gentleness. Can also be used to help with injuries, wounds and reduce stress.

Smoky Quartz

Helps dogs to adjust to new environments and travel, calming and good for shock and stress.

Tiger's Eye

Helps to balance emotions, aids healing in the body, great for eye problems, digestive issues, bone healing.

Turquoise

Calming, but also promotes confidence. It’s also good for helping with throat issues and eye disorders.

Once you’ve established which crystals to use, you can make a crystal pendant for your dog’s collar, place crystals in your dog’s living area, or even make a crystal elixir for your dog’s water bowl. Well, simply having crystals in the dog’s environment can help to shift the energy around them. This is because the energy of the space is affected, and as such so is the dog’s, and indeed yours! As well as placing crystals in the general living environment, put some close to your dog’s sleeping area and even under their bedding. Just be sure that there are no sharp edges that might make them uncomfortable, and be aware of the risk of choking. You know your dog, so if you know that they’re likely to pick up smaller stones in their mouths, then obviously don’t give them the opportunity to do that!

Amethyst Crystal on Kuro.

You can actually place crystals in your dog’s drinking bowl to make them a crystal elixir to drink! A crystal elixir is simply liquid, usually water, that has been infused with the healing power of crystals. When you do this, the water takes on the energy of the crystal, and that then passes on to your dog. This liquid is most commonly used for drinking, but can often also be used topically, for bathing, or as a room spray. Not all crystals are suitable for this as some can be toxic to consume. Rose quartz, amethyst and clear quartz are all safe, and are great choices. Just grab one or more larger stones (small ones could be a choking hazard) and pop it in the water bowl – simple! If safety is a concern, you can actually put the crystal in a water bottle. You could fill the bottle at bedtime, leave it to take on the positive energy overnight, then pour the water into your dog’s bowl in the morning.You can also drink some of this water yourself.
