Not only can they eat Shishamo, it’s also good for them. Shishamo, otherwise known as the Capelin Fish, is a small forage fish of the smelt family. The capelin is silver in colour with a torpedo shaped, slender body. Every part of it from its head to tail, tiny bones and all, can be eaten and digested. The fish is small and one of the reasons why it’s so delicious is, whilst it has fairly little meat, it is mostly filled with a rich caviar. It’s as delicious to our pets as it is to us.

So what are the benefits of consuming Shishamo?
The Capelin Fish is rich in easily digestible proteins, calcium, polyunsaturated fats, Omega-3 acids. It also helps treat arthritis, tooth decay and bone fractures.
